The first show I went to was a local cruise night show and to my surprise, the car won 1st place for the 70's cars. It was a good experience and I did get to bring a big ole trophy home!!
Last weekend was Lone Star Corvette Club's 14 annual Vette show at Texas Motor Speedway. This is the largest regional vette show in the country so I thought I would enter for the experience. Once again the car did fantastic and won a class award ('74-'82s). It also performed on the track amazingly with no problems up to 140 mph and did the infield track where it never got below 4000 rpms. The pic of the 5 similar vettes are '78 - '82 cars including my '79 that were getting lined up for "50 years of Corvettes" for a photo shoot.
June 29th at the Boulevard Knights Cruise night the car took a class win in the Sports Car class. I probably should have entered it in the '70s class, but I'm always happy with a trophy. Pics to follow as I don't have my digital camera currently and I have to develop the film - how old fashion is that. This is the first venue that I have announce the car being for sale. Two more weeks I should have the 69 project home from Boston and begin the process all over. But in the mean time, more shows and fun.
More to come!!
